Licensing

There have been many questions across the board regarding the necessity of a data collection company holding a private investigation license. Would you prefer to take the chance that your hard work could be thrown out?

Here are the facts:

  • In Texas (and now in many other states) it is law that anyone who engages in the business of collecting evidence for use before court must be licensed as a private investigator. (Texas Occupations Code: Sec 1702.368)
  • Section 1702.104 of the Texas Occupations Code has been amended to include "computer-based data"

Elite Forensics Investigations employs licensed private investigators and is a licensed private investigations firm in the state of Texas. (License # A15079)

Since its establishment, Elite Forensics Investigations has been the sole provider of computer forensic examination and data collection services for Elite Document Technology. The company is owned and operated by Brent Beers (Direcor of Operations, Technology & Forensics; Elite Document Technology). The importance of forensically sound data collection and evidence processing has increased over the years and will not be going away any time soon. EFI has trained, experienced personnel on staff to assure that your evidence is handled with nothing other than the best care.

Forensic Data Locker

Elite Forensics Investigations recognizes the needs of today's corporations, both large and small. Everyday these corporations are at risk for legal action being taken against them. The same corporations are constantly at risk of loosing important data such as customer lists, confidential business agendas or even product specific information. This is why we have established the "Forensic Data Locker" service. Since most companies never think about the value of capturing a forensically sound copy of their departing employees they usually find themselves in the predicament of trying to find impossible to find information when it is usually too late. We offer this service as a consulting service to those who are interested in protecting themselves from the theft of this intellectual property. The process is fully documented and the data is secured within a 3 ton data safe inside of our secure digital forensics laboratory. Once the forensically sound image is captured the original can be used as needed and you will always have the information available for examination at a later time.

Digital Forensics Laboratory

Elite Forensics Investigations has developed a fully functional digital forensics laboratory located adjacent to Elite Document Technology. The lab is stationary as can be converted into a 100% mobile lab for off-site collections and examinations (although off-site examinations are not recommended). It houses the latest software in computer forensic investigation technology including AccessData's Forensic Toolkit, Guidance Software's Encase, X-Way's Forensic and much more. The digital forensics laboratory is secured in multiple ways. The first security measure is deadbolt security, followed by biometric security. The room is also under 24/7/365 video surveillence and is also monitered by licensed professionals 24 hours a day via alarm monitoring. Only authorized individuals have access to the room.
